Who said Girls don't like Football?

On Monday a selection of our Year 3/4 girls took part in a football event which was held at Burnley College.

This was an introduction to football event and combined skills activities and matches for the girls to take part in. The girls were AMAZING! Mr Kay and Mr Clough were so proud of the attitude of the girls, they laughed and smiled all the way through the event.

Congratulations to Emily in Class 4C who was chosen as the Sports Games Superstar!

Thank you to the parents for your help and support at the event. We are very proud of the girls, as always their behaviour was exceptional.

Run Brunshaw Run!

On Wednesday some of our Year 6 children took part in the Burnley Schools Cross Country RACE which was held at Towneley Park. Run over a 2 mile distance, this race was very challenging with the added challenge of the good old Burnley weather!

The children were amazing and their performances were outstanding. I am also delighted to inform you all that Ayron in Class 6L came 1st in the boys race and will now go forward to represent Burnley in the Lancashire race to be held later in the year.

As always, we are so proud of your achievements - here is a picture of our squad.

Year 2 Athletics Competition

Some of our Year 2 children attended an Athletics Competition which was held at Unity College.

This involved 6 other schools and the children took part in running races, jumping and throwing activities as a team.

What a pleasure it was to take them to this event, their behaviour was perfect and I was so proud of them all. I am delighted to say in the overall competition we came 1st!! Here are some pictures of our winning team with their medals.

KS2 Football

Well done to KS2 football team who played two matches this week against Wellfield and Hapton. Although they had to deal with some awful weather conditions they played extremely well. They unfortunately lost against Wellfield but showed their resilience by coming back to beat Hapton 6-1. Well done Team Brunshaw.

KS2 Athletics

Well done to the KS2 athletics squad who represented the school in the Unity Sportshall Athletics competition on Tuesday. They were amazing and came an excellent 4th place overall. Have a look at some pictures from the event.
