Hello, my name is Mrs Briggs and I teach Aspen Class. We are a year two class.  We will also have the wonderful Mrs Fay working with us too.

We’re going to have an amazing adventure this year, filled with fun, learning, and discovery! In science, we’ll discover how animals survive, explore amazing habitats like the rainforest, and learn how plants grow from tiny seeds. We’ll find out why recycling is important and how we can help protect our planet. In history, we’ll travel back in time to learn about the Titanic, Florence Nightingale, and what seaside holidays were like in the past. In geography, we’ll explore life in England, investigate our local area, and find out why we love going to the seaside.

There will be lots of creativity too—we’ll make art inspired by famous artists, design and build amazing things, and even cook healthy meals. You’ll sing songs, perform for your families, and learn how to stay safe and be kind. We'll go on fantastic trips like pond dipping, visiting the garden centre, and even a seaside day out where you’ll get to build sandcastles and eat an ice cream! We can’t wait to see what you’ll achieve this year. Get ready to explore, discover, and shine!

It is really important that you read your reading book regularly and focus on making sure that you have learned all your number bonds. You will be expected to do this as part of your homework, and you will also have a half termly homework task to complete.

PE days will change throughout the year, so please make sure that your PE kit is in school and that all kit and uniform is clearly labelled.
