Hello and welcome to our Year 2 Oak Class page! I’m Miss Whittle, and I’m very excited to be your teacher this year. I am lucky to be supported in our classroom by Mrs Duxbury and Mrs Korfia, who help make our classroom a happy, welcoming and exciting place to learn.

We have lots of exciting learning ahead of us this year. We can’t wait to find out why we remember the Titanic, explore how animals survive and where they live, and get creative with Pointillism in art. These are just a few of the fantastic topics we will be exploring together!

We are also particularly excited about our summer trip to the seaside, where we will be able to put some of our learning into practice and enjoy a special day together.

In Oak Class, we recognise that children learn in different ways. Some children will access parts of our curriculum through continuous provision, giving them opportunities to learn through play, exploration and hands-on experiences alongside our more structured lessons.

And finally, our classroom wouldn’t be complete without our class pets! 🐠 We have four lovely fish who have already become very important members of Oak Class. We will enjoy looking after them and learning about how to care for living things.
