Hello, my name is Mr Matthews and I teach Cedar Class. We are a Year Three class. Working alongside me in Cedar Class is Miss Jackson, who supports the children in their learning throughout the week.
This year, we have some fascinating topics to explore. In Science, we’ll be learning all about rocks – what they are and what we can find within them. Our History lessons will take us on a journey through time as we investigate how and why punishment (especially in Lancashire) has changed over the years. In Music, we’ll be learning how to play the ukulele – a great opportunity to develop our rhythm, coordination, and creativity!
We also have some exciting experiences planned. Later in the year, we’ll be heading to Burnley Mechanics for a performance, and we’ll also enjoy a hands-on trip to Eureka to support our learning.
Reading is really important in Year Three, so please make sure that reading books are brought into school every day. PE days may change across the year, so it’s essential that PE kits are kept in school at all times. Please also make sure that all kit and uniform is clearly labelled with your child’s name.
We’ll be sharing regular updates, photos, and information on our Class Dojo page, so keep an eye out to see what we’re up to.
We’re really looking forward to a fantastic year in Cedar Class!
