Hello, my name is Mr Perry and I teach Chestnut Class. We are a Year 5 class. Working alongside me in Chestnut Class is Miss Palmer.

In Year 5 we have lots of exciting topics, including learning about the Romans and the Anglo Saxons in History. We will also be learning about the landscape of the UK and how it has changed over time in Geography and also discover the various stages of human growth in Science.

We also have lots of exciting books that we will read together this year, including The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe, Hugo and The Sleeper and The Spindle.

It is really important that you read your reading book regularly and focus on making sure that you are confident with your times tables. You will also have a half termly homework task to complete.

PE will take place on Thursday afternoons, please ensure that children bring in their kits before Friday 5^th.

Year 5 is an exciting and fun filled year leading up to Year 6. It is important to work hard and be resilient as we head into higher Key Stage 2.
