Welcome to Buttercup Class

 

Hello, my name is Miss Fisher and I am the class teacher for Buttercup Class. Alongside our wonderful Teaching Assistants, Miss Aspinall, Miss Davis and Mrs Carling, we are proud to be part of each child's learning journey.

Buttercup Class is a place where every child is known, understood and celebrated for who they are. We recognise that all children have their own strengths, interests and ways of learning, and we believe these differences are what make our class such a special place to be. Our priority is to build trusting relationships and create an environment where children feel happy, safe and valued. When children feel secure and understood, they are able to develop confidence, take risks in their learning and achieve things they may never have thought possible.

We are passionate about helping every child reach their full potential. Success looks different for every child, and we celebrate every achievement, no matter how big or small. Through carefully planned learning experiences, personalised support and high expectations, we encourage children to become confident communicators, independent learners and active members of our school community.

Learning in Buttercup is practical, creative and meaningful. We follow children's interests wherever possible, using engaging activities, play, exploration and real-life experiences to inspire curiosity and a love of learning. Children are encouraged to investigate, ask questions, solve problems and develop skills that prepare them for future learning and life beyond school.

Communication, emotional wellbeing and independence are at the heart of everything we do. We use a range of approaches, including visual supports, sensory strategies and structured routines, to ensure that every child can access learning and thrive in a way that is right for them.

Each half term we explore exciting topics such as Me and My Community, Around the World, Amazing Animals and Once Upon a Time. These provide opportunities for children to discover new interests, deepen their understanding of the world around them and make meaningful connections across their learning.

At The Meadows, we believe that every child deserves to feel a sense of belonging and to experience success. Together with families, we work to ensure that each child is supported, encouraged and empowered to become the very best version of themselves.
