Online Safety Champions – Meeting Minutes
Date: 13.10.26

1. Introductions and our role

The Online Safety Champions met for the first time and introduced themselves. We discussed our role within school and how we can help keep our friends safe online. We talked about the importance of making sure everyone follows the school's Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).

2. Using school devices safely

We discussed the importance of children using their own designated, numbered laptop or iPad. This helps ensure that devices are used appropriately and that everyone takes responsibility for the equipment they have been allocated.

3. Online safety over the October half-term

As the October half-term holiday is approaching, we discussed the importance of reminding children how to stay safe online when using devices at home. Champions were encouraged to remind their friends about making safe choices online and following online safety rules during the holidays.

4. Online Safety Posters for October Half-Term

The Online Safety Champions will work together to design posters to help their friends and grown-ups stay safe online during the October half-term holiday. The posters will share important online safety messages and encourage everyone to make safe choices when using devices.

Once completed, the posters will be uploaded to Class Dojo so that children and families can access them. Children and parents are encouraged to look out for the posters and use the advice to help them stay safe online during the holidays.
