  • The Meadows - SEND Unit

The Meadows is a Local Authority maintained SEND unit based within Brunshaw Primary School for 16 children. The unit opened in September 2025 and provides specialist provision for children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) whose primary area of need is Communication and Interaction, including Autism.

The Meadows provides a nurturing, structured and highly supportive environment where children are able to develop their communication, independence, emotional regulation and learning skills whilst remaining part of the wider school community where appropriate.

The Meadows consists of two classes:

    • Buttercup – EYFS/KS1 which covers Reception through to Year 2
    • Clover – KS2 which covers  Year 3 to Year 6

At The Meadows we recognise that every child is unique. We provide a nurturing, structured and supportive environment tailored to meet pupils’ individual strengths and needs.  We aim to support children to develop confidence, independence and positive relationships whilst helping them access learning successfully within school and beyond.

We believe that strong relationships between home and school are essential. We work closely with parents, carers and professionals to ensure children receive the support they need to thrive.
