Hello, my name is Mrs Bell and I teach Clover Class. We work with children from year 3 – year 6 that need a calmer and more hands on learning experience. Working alongside me in Clover Class is fabulous Mrs Korfia-Panagou.
In Clover Class we have lots of exciting topics, including learning, the world before me, castles and traditional tales, plants and nature, our environment and the beach. The topics will influence all of our learning throughout the half term to ensure the children are immersed and experience the topic to its fullest.
Not only will our children be learning about their topics, but they will be gaining important life skills. We have a clear focus on independence and will give all the children opportunities to practise their independence skills throughout all of their time in school. This includes snack times and dinner times where why will be encouraged to use their preferred communication strategy to ask for what they would like.
The children will access Maths and English skills in a more tactile way. We will teach maths with lots of practical equipment and making their learning relevant to their everyday lives. For example, creating a class shop when learning about money. Sensory stories will be included in their learning most days. This will be immersing the children in the story by including sensory activities that are linked to the experiences of the characters. This will support their understanding of the themes of the texts.
In Clover Class, we believe that all children are unique and we adapt our teaching to suit the individual. Every child has the right to learn and thrive.
