- Ambassadors were very excited to report back their findings regarding outdoor learning.

What is working well
|
What needs improving?
|
- Lots of outdoor space around school
- Towneley Park on the doorstep
- EYFS and Year 1 have outdoor provision that allows outdoor learning and investigation all year round
- The teachers like being outside and teaching outside
|
- Lower down the school (yr 3 and below) seem to do more outdoor learning than the rest of the school. Look at sequencing docs to see how we can add it into more year groups
- Resources – we don’t have a lot of ‘stuff’ to properly investigate. We will makes a list of resources to buy
|
- The ambassadors were very vocal about the positive things within their science lessons in school.
- Lots of opportunity for outdoor learning in the lower years, need to look at KS2 for more outdoor learning ideas and add to sequencing docs
- Discussed the Sensory Science Shed outdoors. I explained this would be accessible for all year groups and teachers could book the slots – everyone agreed and thought this would be a great idea. All weather outdoor learning.
- New resources were discussed for outside – I asked the ambassadors to think about what they would like to see and how we can link it to each year groups learning – will discuss resource ideas at the next meeting.
Next meeting – February 2026 – to decide on outdoor resources, our Easter competition and British Science Week ideas.
