    Our project this year

Mrs Cunningham reminded us that our project this year is to develop a new area of our library with books to support children with additional needs. This will include sensory books, dual coded texts and books for older children with dyslexia.

Mrs Cunningham asked for suggestions to raise some money to fund these books

    • Non-school uniform day
    • Reading competition - £1 entry
    • Use money from Disco – Mrs Cunningham explained that this money was already going to used for the mini-bus fund
    • Cake Sale – Mrs Cunningham explained that we have a cake sale planned for Macmillan and this was an important charity
    • Raffle

Action: Mrs Cunningham to speak to Mrs Smith to plan a non-uniform day

ACTION: Reader Leaders to suggest some ideas for a reading competition

Mrs Cunningham suggested creating an Amazon wish list and publicising this to parents and the wider community including businesses. The older reader leaders will help to create this and to write letters to local businesses.

ACTION: Mrs Cunningham to meet with Y4-6 Leaders on 06/10/26 at 1:30 to create wishlist

Mrs Cunningham also shared that there is a small amount of money in a Just Giving account that was never withdrawn when the library fundraising happened.

ACTION: Mrs Cunningham to speak with Mrs Venske to move money form Just Giving to school fund

    Library Rota

The children from Y2-6 would all like to be part of the library rota to support at lunchtimes.

    Books at Breakfast Club

Arianna mentioned that it would be nice if there was a selection of books available to read at Breakfast Club. The other members of the team who attend breakfast club agreed and began to plan where this might be situated in the hall.

ACTION: Mrs Cunningham will meet the group who attend one morning before school and we will select books from the library to go into breakfast club.
