Training to Help our Peers
Our Well-being ambassadors and Anna our Pupil Support Worker had some training with Siobhan Barfoot and Alex Mulrooney our Senior Mental Health Practitioners from Elcas.
We found this very interesting and they were both so impressed with our knowledge and ideas.
We looked at different techniques and strategies we can use to support our peers each day, such as finger breathing , looking after our physical and mental health, getting enough sleep, eating well and socialising and simply just listening.
Each term we are going to do some training with Siobhan and Alex looking at
The 5 ways to well-being , which are
1. Social /Connection
2. Being Active
3. Focus/ taking notice
4. Feeling good/ Keep learning
5. Giving
