Sycamore Class
Winter Art
We've been very busy making our own winter art. Just take a look at our fabulous pictures!
Winter is Coming!
This week in Sycamore Reception we have enjoyed playing out in the frost and dusting of snow. We have also completed a Nativity Now Press Play. We enjoyed being Mary, a donkey and one of the three kings.
Passport of Experiences - Autumn Leaves
As part of our passport of experiences, Sycamore Reception enjoyed kicking the autumn leaves. We have waited a long time for a dry day so that the leaves were dry enough to kick.
Stay and Play
Sycamore Reception and Willow Class welcomed parents in on Wednesday afternoon for stay and play. The parents help the children make a Christmas (or other) decoration. It was lovely to see so many parents joining us
Physical Development
In P.E this week Sycamore Class have been learning the fundamental movement skills of bouncing a ball, hopping, catch a ball, throwing and running. We are getting really good and Mr Clough, Mrs Bull and Miss Aspinall were very impressed with us.
Stay and Play
On Wednesday lots of the parents came to our stay and play session. It was lovely to see so many of you and the children loved showing off the different areas.
Role Play
On Friday Mrs. Bull had a change around of provision and the children loved playing with their friends and leaning through play when they came to school on Monday. They have used their speaking and listening skills to role play with the babies, trains and cars. They worked together to build sandcastles and discussed what they could do to make the sandcastle stronger.
Bubble Fun
The sun came out on Monday, so we enjoyed playing outside. It was also a little windy, so we made bubbles. We love playing outside but it's even better without the rain!
Wet Weather Fun
The children in Willow and Sycamore Class didn't let a bit of wet weather spoil their fun. We put on wellies and waterproofs and had fun in the rain.
Henri Matisse - Snail Trail
During the first week of the new school year, we participated in a whole school art week. Each year group looked at a different artist. Our artist was Henri Matisse and we used the book called ‘Snail Trail’ to support our learning. We looked at his artwork called ‘Snail’ and created our own snails using collage and sculpture. I think you’ll agree that we did a great job!
