Willow Class
Signs of Spring Walk
Today we were inspired by the blossoms we saw on our 'Signs of Spring' walk. We mixed red and white paint to make pink and used a printing technique to create blossoms on our trees
It's a Bit Windy!
Windy day fun at the Foundation Centre. On Thursday, the Reception children had lots of fun exploring the windy weather. They played with bubbles, ribbons, pom-poms and wind catchers.
Stay and Play
Sycamore Reception and Willow Class welcomed parents in on Wednesday afternoon for stay and play. The parents help the children make a Christmas (or other) decoration. It was lovely to see so many parents joining us
Seeds and Gardeners
On Wednesday Sycamore and Elder classes teamed up for Seeds and Gardeners. The children used a box to make houses, rockets and buses. It was so lovely seeing the children interacting and working collaboratively.
Stay and Play
On Wednesday lots of the parents came to our stay and play session. It was lovely to see so many of you and the children loved showing off the different areas.
Physical Development
Fantastic Physical Development in Willow Class. This week in PE, we used lots of the large apparatus. We used our gross motor skills to climb, throw, crawl, jump and balance and had lots of fun whilst doing it! Even though a few of the children were nervous at first, they all had a go at everything and I am very proud of them!
Creative Construction
This week, the children in Willow Class have used a range of materials when constructing. They have demonstrated excellent teamwork and communication skills and I have been blown away by their creativity and imagination. The pictures show houses, an island and the world's longest car tunnel!
Bubble Fun
The sun came out on Monday, so we enjoyed playing outside. It was also a little windy, so we made bubbles. We love playing outside but it's even better without the rain!
Wet Weather Fun
The children in Willow and Sycamore Class didn't let a bit of wet weather spoil their fun. We put on wellies and waterproofs and had fun in the rain.
Henri Matisse - Snail Trail
During the first week of the new school year, we participated in a whole school art week. Each year group looked at a different artist. Our artist was Henri Matisse and we used the book called ‘Snail Trail’ to support our learning. We looked at his artwork called ‘Snail’ and created our own snails using collage and sculpture. I think you’ll agree that we did a great job!
