Music Ambassador Meeting

Spring Term 2  - 20-02-2024

Present - Mrs. McGuigan, Rubi Alice Green, Leo Berry

Agenda:

• We discussed that Rubi Alice and Leo will be going with the reception children to Barnes Court at the end of this half term to sing for them. They will support the children by walking up with them and joining in. They will take an IPad to record photos and films as evidence.
• We discussed holding a sponsored sing in school to raise money for the library. Rubi suggested splitting it with a musical charity which we agreed. The children are going to find a local one to support. We talked about how the day will run, a date and inviting parents and governors to join. Rubi and Leo will create a sponsorship form, feedback to classes and write a letter to parents inviting them in for the lunchtime slot. We talked about ending the day on the yard with parents and the two are going to think of a suitable song for all. Suggested date – 25.03.24. Leo suggested prizes for the top 3 collectors and letting the classes decide their music as he thinks people are reluctant to sing in school as they don’t like the song choices. I agreed this but also asked him to feedback to Year 6 that sometimes teachers have to teach what they are told to and singing, like the rest of the curriculum, is no different sadly.
• We finally talked about the children taking a more active role in Monday’s assembly and being in charge of the musical side while the Head Boy and Girl concentrate on Friday’s. They both agreed and said they would liaise with the others.
